The NARI Remodeled Homes Tour is your chance to scoop up intel on how to live better within your space. It's this weekend April 25th - 26th. We'll be there and would be thrilled to give you the inside skinny on two very neat remodels. We've even got a deal for you on tickets--two for the price of one. Call ahead if interested. Our NARI Tour locations are 800 West 58th Street in the Country Club district and 7354 Oakview in Shawnee, approximately 3 miles west of I-35 off 75th Street. Tour Details www.remodelingkc.com Feats of Clay . . . Clay Lyon, CR recently presented a remodeling seminar to local real estate investment professionals. For his financial tips on evaluating remodeling decisions and the smartest ways to maintain and improve your home's value, call for a free mini-version of his presentation. Clay was also featured in a KC Star article on the CEO Coaching & More program at UMKC. If you are an entrepreneur or know one who might benefit from others' success, check out the Star article. Clean & Green the Easy Way One of the quickest and least expensive ways to give your home a fresh look while being easy on the environment and your pocketbook? . . . Clean your windows, inside and out. You will be amazed at how much vibrancy such a simple task adds to the life of your home. And while you are on the ladder, take advantage of the opportunity to check window caulking, sealing and weatherstripping. If repairing needs to be done, do it now so you won't be wasting energy and money cooling the outdoors in August. By the way, cleaning windows is completely undeserving of its bad rap. Still don't want to do windows? Call or click for the timely Lyon Cub Clean & Green Spring Special good through May: 913-236-5966, info@lyoncub.com or www.lyoncub.com |

Painting & Glazing. Times as they are, savvy homeowners are looking for economical ways to add value and interest to their home. One cool option is a kitchen mini-makeover. Some of our most amazing transformations have occurred by applying sandpaper, paint, some artistic glazing and hardware to 20th century honey-oak cabinets. Do it yourself or trust our new small-projects division Lyon Cub to help! Of course, when budget allows, custom cabinets can make an even more dramatic difference. See for yourself how Lyon has added new cabinets to a charming Brookside/Plaza kitchen along with some cool glazing in our latest Kitchen Remodel on the NARI Homes Tour. Recent Project The Haney family's Plaza/Brookside colonial (above) is one of those beautiful, older homes with the character and charm that only comes with time. Like most classics of its ilk, the original kitchen was lacking in modern convenience and fraught with traffic flow challenges. The design/build solution included a new kitchen, butler's pantry and powder room. It included removing load-bearing walls and relocation the powder room. Highlights of the new kitchen were a new granite-top center island to accommodate modern appliances, storage, food preparation and informal dining; built-in features allowing for copious cabinet space and flat-screen TV cabinet. Testimonials "We very much appreciate the quality of the workmanship of your crews. We also enjoyed working with you and your willingness to work with us on changes or to explore alternatives. The end result is a space that meets our high expectations and that we will enjoy for years to come
