We have extensive experience dealing with the unique circumstances that occur in remodeling older homes. But what distinguishes Lyon Construction+Design is its sensitivity to the human aspects of construction on the clients who are living with it.

Demolition and construction can't help but be disruptive to families and their pets. We work diligently to minimize the effects through careful scheduling and communication, through respect for the intimacy of the client's space, and by cleaning as we go. Lyon Construction+Design was the first area remodeler to purchase and use a portable air filtration system from Abatement Technologies. It's a state-of-the-art piece of equipment designed to remove dust particles down to the micron level.

Upon completion of design work, we'll begin construction. We'll help prepare you and your family with detailed information about our schedule and timing, and how the project might affect the flow of family activities. We'll work together to minimize disruption. 

Construction plans usually fall into the following phases, depending on the project:

Preparation and Framing:

• Exterior preparation and concrete placement
• Framing of new floors and walls; window and roof installation
• Careful de-construction of existing interior spaces
• Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work
• Insulation installed

Finish Work:

• Drywall installation
• Cabinetry and trim installation
• Tile installation
• Painting and finishing electrical and plumbing work
